ICOMAN SEEKS COLLABORATION WITH NSCDC*

PAYS SOLIDARITY VISIT TO IMO COMMANDANT OVYE

The Independent Crude Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (ICOMAN) has declared interest to collaborate with the Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in its commitment to maximum protection of government critical national assets and infrastructure, especially in the oil sector.

Delegates of the Independent Crude Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (ICOMAN) Imo State Chapter ably led by the Chairman Engr. Obi Chuks Ifeanyi stated this recently during a courtesy visit to the NSCDC Imo State Commandant, Mathew Sunday Ovye. 

While interacting with the Commandant, the state chairman of ICOMAN, Mr. Chuks Obi highlighted the need to fight oil theft in partnership with NSCDC whose core mandate is to protect oil pipelines across the federation.

He further revealed the association's readiness to address oil theft and vandalism across the state, adding that his team will never hesitate to give or release relevant intelligence to NSCDC in that regards.

His words "We have come to commend the efforts of NSCDC officers in the professional discharge of your duties and to most importantly seek your collaboration and cooperation in carrying out our constitutional duty. ICOMAN will not thrive or function effectively without your support"

Responding, Commandant Mathew Ovye appreciated the presence of the state chairman of ICOMAN and his team. He extolled the level of patriotism and pragmatism they exhibited in their dedication to service. He granted the partnership request made by ICOMAN, stressing on the importance of such synergy as security agencies in achieving a sanitized society.

"The fight against oil pipeline vandalism is a battle of "NO GOING BACK". We must sanitize the oil sector, we are leaving no stone unturned. It is the mandate of NSCDC and there is no room for compromise. Imo State is one of the oil producing states in Nigeria, therefore, we are ever ready to fight these economic saboteurs" Ovye reiterated.

He used the medium to encourage good citizens of lmo state who engage in legal businesses to continue in their legitimate businesses and warned those who engage in unlawful ventures to desist from their vices or face the wrath of the law.

In attendance also were Deputy Commandant, Ben Nwokoafor, Head of Anti vandalism unit, Assistant Commandant Micheal Juwa, Commandant's CSO, Assistant Commandant Tumba Lucky, ICOMAN Secretary, Barr. Enwereuzo Christian and a host of others.
