Proprietress of South-View International Schools Mrs. Munachimso C. Nwosu-Okorie received a special award on Wednesday 7th August, 2024 from Ndom Obiwuruotu Umuguma Women Association, an umbrella body, comprising of young and old women, cutting across all the villages in Umuguma Autonomous Community, who are saddled with the responsibility of empowering, advancing and contributing to the growth and development of women in the community and beyond.
The award reads "In sincere recognition of your performance as best daughter in-law 2024".
Speaking at the 2024 August Meeting celebration where the award was given, President of Ndom Obiwuruotu Umuguma Women Association, Mrs. Josephine Njoku revealed that the award ceremony is unique because the association painstakingly selects people
who have touched numerous lives positively and made visible impacts towards human capital development and society building.
She emphasized that the awardees are men and women of substance whose exemplary lives are laced with uncommon kindness, integrity philanthropic dispositions, probity and genuine love for humanity, adding that the merit award serves as an encouragement to them and a call to do more in ensuring continuous spread of love and support towards achieving a sanitised society.
Responding, Mrs. Nwosu-Okorie expressed gratitude to Ndom Obiwuruotu women for honouring her with a sought-after award, describing it as an honour given to her by grace.
She stated that her ecstasy stems from the fact that she found favour in the sight of her fellow women to be bestowed with an award as the best daughter in-law in the midst of several other good women in the community.
She however, reiterated her determination to remain a shinning light that illuminates the lives of people and the society, while contributing her quota towards women emancipation.
Her father in-law, Elder Matthew Okorie appreciated Ndom Obiwuruotu women for honouring his daughter in-law with such an award, describing it as deserving, timely and accurate.
He described the awardee as a virtuous, respectful, peaceful and highly educated woman who has brought so much value and fortune to the family through her godliness and unique lifestyle.
Her mother in-law Mrs, Eugenia Okorie thanked the association for recognising the beautiful features of her daughter in-law which have qualified her for an honourable award, stressing that the award is quite merited and speaks volumes of her noble personality.
His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr. George Nnamdi Ugorji, Eze Ohamere IV of Umuguma Autonomous Community who was present at the event congratulated all those who were recognised and honoured with an award, enjoining them to keep impacting lives and making indelible marks in the society.
He commended Ndom Obiwuruotu women for organising an exceptional 2024 August Meeting where the women both young and old where given equal opportunity to participate actively in different activities such as march past, cultural dance, and other insightful varieties. He urged them to remain united and purpose-driven in their quest to attain greater heights.
