Accolades and commendations have continued to burgeon as Rep Member for Ideato Federal constituency, Barr. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere marks one year in office, rolling out remarkable legislative achievements.
The developmental legacy of Hon. Ugochinyere just after 365 days in office has brought uproarious jubilations in Ideato Nation as many Ideato indigenes express satisfaction at the progress so far.
Within first year in office, Hon. Ugochinyere has sponsored 18 bills, 7 motions and presented petitions which were aimed at addressing serial challenges affecting Ideato people, Imolites and the Nigerian populace.
Amongst the bills he sponsored were a bill seeking the establishment of a National Hospital for Women in Ideato, a Federal College of Education in Umuobom, Ideato South, and the creation of an additional state in the Southeast region.
The House adopted his motion seeking for the fixing of the gully erosion that is threatening the lives of the good people of Umuchima as well as other communities in Ideato South LGA and also adopted his motion to resist and investigate arbitrary fuel price hike by petrol marketers and Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) amongst many others.
Ugochinyere spearheaded the advocation for the release of professors and refugees abducted from Nigeria and imprisoned in Cameroon. He has remained committed to addressing issues of police brutality, human rights abuses, and the neglect of critical infrastructure in his constituency and beyond.
The Lawmaker has beyond his robust legislation, engaged in educational, agricultural and economic empowerments. He flagged off an annual scholarship scheme which benefitted 100 indigenes of Ideato Nation, implemented agricultural empowerment initiatives, empowered many Ideato people with shuttle buses, tricycles, motorcycles and distributed various palliatives, including the Federal Government's trailer loads of rice and beans, to assist his constituents who are facing the frightening economic hazards in the country.
Ugochinyere's ongoing infrastructural projects such as 8 water borehole projects, 1675 solar powered street lights, 4 500KVA Transformers and feeder pillars etc will largely ameliorate living standards of Ideato people, after enduring lack of basic amenities for many years.
Rehabilitation of 2 block central schools in Ekeezeala Akokwa, and ongoing supply of school desks to various Community schools in Ideato Nation have immensely improved the educational environments and learning culture of the Federal Constituency.
Ugochinyere has not ceased receiving widespread commendations and applauds from thousands of Ideato indigenes for his transformational representation, excellent legislature and the positive change he has brought to Ideato Nation.
